TrimRx Review: Is It Legit?

TrimRx review: $299 or $399 a month after the first month, prices shown only after sign-up, an unnamed pharmacy, a BBB F, and how to cancel and get refunds.

Last updated Oct 26, 2026
Quick answer

TrimRx is an online GLP-1 program that prescribes compounded medication only: compounded semaglutide and compounded tirzepatide. Plans start at $175 a month on a 12-month plan, $2,098 up front, or $299 month to month. We rate it 6.9/10 (Fair). It does not name the compounding pharmacy that fills its prescriptions, so the pharmacy's record can't be checked. Compounded drugs are not FDA-approved. No FDA warning letter is on file for TrimRx as of Oct 26, 2026.

TrimRx (also written Trim Rx) is an online platform that sells compounded semaglutide and tirzepatide injections, with the provider review, the drug and the shipping in one price. A San Diego company, MetaFit Pharma Solutions, runs it. It suits you if you want one flat price at every dose and you're ready to pay for several months up front.

We rate it 6.9 out of 10, tier Fair. It has no FDA warning letter, its site is LegitScript-certified, and it charges no fee on top of the plan price. But month to month it is one of the most expensive compounded programs we track, and it names no pharmacy and no doctor.

The catch is how it sells. You see the price only after the medical questions and after you give your email and phone number, and a different TrimRx link gave us a different price for the same plan. Complaints about billing and missing orders are heavy: the Better Business Bureau rates it F.

No FDA warning letter is on file for TrimRx in the FDA’s published warning-letter list as of Oct 26, 2026. TrimRx doesn't name its compounding pharmacy, so the pharmacy can't be cross-checked.

It’s for you if
  • You want one price at every dose, with the provider and the shipping included.
  • You will commit to 6 or 12 months and pay up front for a lower rate.
  • You want phone support seven days a week.
It’s not for you if
  • You want a low month-to-month price: $299 and $399 are near the top of what we track.
  • You want to see the price before you answer medical questions and give your phone number.
  • You want to know which pharmacy makes your drug, or who your doctor is.
  • You want insurance to pay.
  • You don't want injections, or don't feel comfortable injecting yourself.

What is TrimRx?

TrimRx is a sign-up and billing platform, not a medical practice. Its safety page says: "TrimRx does not compound or provide medication." You fill in a questionnaire on its site. A provider from one of its "independent, affiliated physician groups" reviews it and decides whether to prescribe. A compounding pharmacy then makes the drug and ships it to you. TrimRx names neither the groups nor the pharmacy.

The menu has two drugs, both compounded and both weekly injections: semaglutide and tirzepatide. TrimRx's pages call them "GLP-1" and "GLP-1 + GIP". Compounded GLP-1s are prepared by a pharmacy to a prescription, and they are not FDA-approved; the safety section explains what that means. A provider can also write you a prescription for a brand-name drug, but TrimRx doesn't sell it: you fill it at a pharmacy of your choice and pay for it there.

Its terms say it serves the 50 states. The company behind it is MetaFit Pharma Solutions LLC, a California company at 12636 High Bluff Drive, Suite 400, San Diego.

Is TrimRx legit?

TrimRx is a real company with a trademark application, a published address and written refund rules. It has no FDA warning letter on file, and LegitScript, which certifies online health businesses, lists its site as certified.

Its record with customers is poor. The Better Business Bureau rates TrimRx F, with 2,632 complaints in the past 12 months and a "Pattern of Complaints" alert. In March 2026 the bureau looked into allegations that TrimRx "fails to wait for medical approval prior to charging and shipping medications". It also asked TrimRx to back up claims such as "Results Guaranteed" and "Money-Back Guarantee", and says TrimRx had not replied as of June 17, 2026.

There are two court cases against MetaFit, both in federal court in San Diego. A class action, Laplante v. Metafit Pharma Solutions LLC, was filed on April 28, 2026; MetaFit has asked the court to dismiss it, and there is no ruling yet. Hume Health sued MetaFit over three web addresses that used the Hume name; the court granted Hume a temporary order on August 14, 2026, without hearing from MetaFit, and a notice of dismissal was filed on September 7. A temporary order is not a ruling on the facts.

Some of TrimRx's marketing doesn't hold up. Its sign-up form shows "Featured coverage in" Forbes, WebMD, Yahoo and the New York Post. The TrimRx items we found on Yahoo are labeled "This is a paid press release", and we found no article about TrimRx in the other three. The form also tells you that you have "a 94% chance of treatment success if you qualify". Its own footer says its figures "do not represent clinical outcomes or individual results".

TrimRx costs $299 a month for compounded semaglutide and $399 a month for compounded tirzepatide on the monthly plan, after a cheaper first month of $179 or $279. That includes the provider review, the drug and the shipping. There is no membership, consultation or shipping fee, and the price is the same at every dose.

That puts TrimRx at rank 27 of the 28 compounded programs we track on month-to-month prices. The median is $179 a month.

Longer plans cost less per month, but you pay for the whole term at checkout:

  • 3 months: $628 for semaglutide ($209 a month), $948 for tirzepatide ($316 a month).
  • 6 months: $1,148 ($191 a month), $1,798 ($300 a month).
  • 12 months: $2,098 ($175 a month), $3,398 ($283 a month).

These plans renew on their own at the end of the term until you cancel. The medication still ships one month at a time. So the trap is simple: don't pay for 6 or 12 months to get the lower rate unless you are sure you'll stay on the drug that long. If you have side effects, talk to your provider.

TrimRx doesn't bill insurance. It takes HSA and FSA cards, PayPal, and pay-later plans from Affirm, Klarna and Afterpay.

Why the price you see can differ

The headline prices on TrimRx's pages are not the plan prices. "Starting at $179" and "Starting at $279" on the home page are the first month only. An offer page says tirzepatide is "$279/mo" on a 12-month plan; the checkout charged $283 a month. The terms list $199 and $349 for the first month; the checkout charged $179 and $279.

The price also depends on the TrimRx page you start from. We reached the checkout three ways on October 26, 2026, as the same new patient. Twelve months of tirzepatide cost $3,398 from the home page, and $2,999 or $3,318 from two of TrimRx's landing pages. The month-to-month rate after the first month was $299 and $399 every time.

The checkout also shows a countdown and a counter such as "Only 33 discounts left". In our visit it fell to 23 in about two minutes, then reset when we opened another TrimRx link. Check the total on the payment page before you pay.

What to watch

Prices show only after the medical questions and your email and phone, and they depend on the link you came in by; the 3-, 6- and 12-month plans are billed up front and renew automatically; unshipped months are refunded only if you ask within 28 days of paying.

How does TrimRx work?

The care is online and in writing. You answer about 35 screens of questions and marketing pages, give your contact details, pick a plan and pay. You are charged only if a provider prescribes: the payment page says "100% refunded if not prescribed".

A provider then reviews your answers. The sign-up form says this happens "within 24 hours"; the payment page says "within 48 hours". The shipping policy says state rules decide whether you also need an online visit. TrimRx doesn't say whether it asks for lab work.

Once you are approved, the pharmacy ships within about 48 business hours, and TrimRx says most people get their medication 4 to 7 business days after approval. Each month is a four-week vial, dosed once a week, with dose changes and an injection kit included. If your order hasn't shipped 14 days after you placed it, you can ask for a refund.

How to contact TrimRx customer service

Call 888-896-1612, seven days a week from 6am to 6pm Pacific time. You can also use the chat or email hello@trimrx.com. The Better Business Bureau lists 783 complaints TrimRx did not respond to.

Is TrimRx safe? FDA status and warning letters

TrimRx has no FDA warning letter on file, under its own name or MetaFit's. We checked the FDA's list on October 26, 2026, up to letters posted October 20.

The pharmacy is the gap. TrimRx names no pharmacy, so we can't check one against the FDA's warning letters and inspection reports. Its pages say only that the drugs come from "state-licensed sterile compounding pharmacies" and are "produced in FDA-registered facilities". Customers on Reddit report getting TrimRx orders from Casa Pharma RX; TrimRx does not confirm this.

The bigger question with any compounded program is the drug itself. Compounded GLP-1s are prepared by a pharmacy to a prescription. They are not FDA-approved: the FDA doesn't review their safety, effectiveness or quality before they're sold, and they are not the same as Wegovy or Zepbound. Formulas can differ from one pharmacy to the next, and some add ingredients such as vitamin B12. Compounding pharmacies are licensed and inspected by state boards of pharmacy; outsourcing facilities (503B) also register with the FDA and are inspected by it. The FDA can issue warning letters when either breaks rules on safety or sterility.

TrimRx's safety page lists the common side effects of these drugs, starting with nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, stomach pain and constipation. It asks you to tell your provider about any history of thyroid cancer, pancreatitis, kidney disease, diabetic eye disease, depression or suicidal thoughts, and if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

How to cancel TrimRx

Cancellation
Cancel anytime
Money-back guarantee
No money-back guarantee. You get a full refund if you are not eligible. On a prepaid plan, ask within 28 days of paying to get the unshipped months back; after that they are not refunded.

Cancel in your TrimRx account, through the chat, or by calling 888-896-1612. Timing matters. If your prescription has already gone to the pharmacy, that order still ships; the cancellation stops the orders after it.

Refunds have a 28-day limit. On a 3-, 6- or 12-month plan, canceling does not get your money back by itself: you must ask separately for the months not yet shipped, within 28 days of paying. After that, those months are not refunded. You also get a full refund if the provider turns you down, if TrimRx bills you in error, or if your order hasn't shipped within 14 days.

The payment page you agree to says something harsher. Its consent says "cancellation fees may apply", with no amount, and that "multi-month packages will not be refunded for unused medication or remaining months". The terms list no cancellation fee and do refund unshipped months. So ask for your refund in writing, within 28 days, and keep the reply.

Steps to cancel TrimRx

  1. Cancel before your plan renews. The 3-, 6- and 12-month plans renew on their own.
  2. Cancel in your TrimRx account, or call 888-896-1612.
  3. Keep the confirmation TrimRx sends.
  4. On a prepaid plan, email hello@trimrx.com within 28 days of paying to get the unshipped months back.
  5. Check your next card statement.

What customers say about TrimRx

TrimRx has a 3.4 TrustScore on Trustpilot from 4,917 reviews, as of October 26, 2026: 55% five stars and 36% one star. TrimRx's own pages show "4.7 / 5".

TrimRx reviews and complaints

Of the 20 newest Trustpilot reviews, from October 22 to 26, 14 give one star. They describe orders paid for but not shipped weeks later, refill or renewal charges the writer says they didn't ask for, and support that doesn't reply. The good reviews mostly praise a quick answer or an easy website. On the Better Business Bureau, TrimRx has 2,666 complaints in three years. These are individual reports, but there are a lot of them.

TrimRx's reviews page gives its own weight-loss figures; we don't repeat them, because they come from its own paid orders and its footer says they "do not represent clinical outcomes". This site collects no independent reviews of its own yet.

How we scored TrimRx

Our score combines seven checks. Each one counts for a fixed share of the total, listed below. Commission is not an input.

  • Price transparency: 7.52/10 (counts for 20% of the total score). No fees, and the same price at every dose. But most plan prices appear only after sign-up, our automated price check could not confirm them on TrimRx's public pages, and we take a point off because the price changes with the link and the public pages quote prices the checkout doesn't charge.
  • Cost and value: 1/10 (counts for 15% of the total score). Rank 27 of 28 on month-to-month prices, at $299 against a median of $179.
  • Medication and pharmacy traceability: 5.8/10 (counts for 15% of the total score). No pharmacy named and no pharmacy type stated.
  • Clinical access and oversight: 7.2/10 (counts for 15% of the total score). A provider reviews every request, but no medical group or doctor is named, the review time differs by page, and there's no lab policy.
  • Safety and enforcement: 10/10 (counts for 20% of the total score). No FDA warning letter, and a LegitScript-certified site. This check doesn't count customer complaints or lawsuits; those are in the terms check and the sections above.
  • Terms, commitment and refunds: 9/10 (counts for 10% of the total score). No minimum term and a written refund rule. We take a point off because the payment page contradicts the terms on refunds and fees, and because of the BBB's F and its complaint alert.
  • Availability and fulfillment: 8.25/10 (counts for 5% of the total score). The 50 states, with shipping times stated.

We rescored TrimRx on October 26, 2026, after going through its checkout. The score stayed at 6.9: LegitScript now lists its site as certified, which raised safety, and price transparency fell. Confidence is medium; our checkout prices come from one visit for one state. The method is on our methodology page.
