Missed your GLP‑1 dose? The label rule, in one sentence

Missed a Zepbound dose? Take it within 4 days or skip it, per the FDA label. Check the rule for Wegovy, Ozempic, Mounjaro or Rybelsus in one step.

Which medicine do you take?

When was your dose due?

Timing is measured from when the dose was due, not from your last injection.

Wegovy, less than 48 hours late

Inject it now.

Inject the missed Wegovy dose as soon as you can — your next scheduled dose is still more than 48 hours away, so take it now and keep your usual day.

Missed two or more doses in a row? The label says to restart at a lower dose and step back up, to reduce stomach side effects. Your prescriber picks the dose.

Compounded semaglutide and tirzepatide follow the brand label for the same molecule, unless your prescriber tells you otherwise.

Wegovy says to take the dose if your next dose is more than 48 hours away. That gives you about 5 days, the same as Ozempic. Zepbound and Mounjaro give 4 days (96 hours). The daily semaglutide tablets (Wegovy tablets, the Ozempic pill and Rybelsus) skip the missed day.

Missed-dose questions

No. Every label’s rule is to take the missed dose or skip it, never to add a second one, and the tablet labels allow one tablet a day. If you think you already took a double dose, contact your prescriber or Poison Control (1-800-222-1222) now.

The label says that after 2 or more missed doses in a row, you restart at a lower dose and step back up, to reduce the risk of stomach side effects. Your prescriber decides which dose to restart at.

Yes, if you need to. The Ozempic label allows a new weekly day as long as doses are at least 48 hours apart, and the Zepbound and Mounjaro labels need at least 72 hours. The Wegovy Medication Guide allows a new day if your last dose was 2 or more days before.

One missed dose, no. The Wegovy label says to restart at a lower dose after 2 or more missed doses in a row. Your prescriber decides the dose, not a calculator.

No. Injections absorb from tissue, not the stomach, so vomiting does not eject the dose — redosing would double it. (The tablets are different, because they are absorbed in the stomach, but their labels still allow one tablet a day.) Persistent vomiting is a call-your-prescriber symptom.

Follow your prescriber’s instructions first — compounded products have no FDA label of their own. Absent specific instructions, the brand label for the same molecule (semaglutide or tirzepatide) is the reference standard prescribers use, and the windows above apply.

This tool gives the label instructions. It is not medical advice and it cannot see your history. Vomiting that does not stop, bad stomach pain or signs of dehydration after a dosing error need your prescriber now. When in doubt, call.
