Hume Care Review: Is It Worth It?

Hume Care review: compounded semaglutide from $199/mo, whether it names its pharmacy, FDA warning letters and complaints. See if it's legit.

Last updated Oct 26, 2026
Quick answer

Hume Care is an online GLP-1 program that prescribes compounded medication only: compounded semaglutide. Plans start at $199 a month. We rate it 7.0/10 (Good). It does not name the compounding pharmacy that fills its prescriptions, so the pharmacy's record can't be checked. It ships to 47 states. Compounded drugs are not FDA-approved. No FDA warning letter is on file for Hume Care as of Oct 26, 2026.

7.0/10Good
Compounded only
  • No FDA warning letter
  • Prices checked Oct 26, 2026

Hume Care is an online program that prescribes compounded semaglutide on a lower-dose, or microdose, protocol. It suits people who want the drug, clinician visits and coaching in one flat monthly price that they can cancel at any time.

We rate it 7.0 out of 10, tier Good. The price is plain and you can cancel at any time, but Hume Care names no pharmacy.

The catch is the refund policy. The terms refund the membership fee only if a physician finds you ineligible for any treatment after your first evaluation, or if Hume ends a prepaid plan without cause; every other fee is non-refundable.

What is Hume Care?

Hume Care is an online weight-management program that prescribes compounded semaglutide with coaching around it. The subscription covers a clinician evaluation, the medication shipped to your door, prescription management, one-on-one coaching, a psychology-based curriculum, food logging and weight tracking.

Here is how it goes. You start with an online questionnaire. A licensed physician from an independent clinical network reviews it and decides whether to prescribe. If a GLP-1 fits, the medication ships discreetly to your door with a treatment plan. Refills continue on the monthly plan.

The offer page lists two drugs, compounded semaglutide and compounded tirzepatide, and the safety page covers both as injections under the skin. Only the semaglutide protocol has a published price. The home page says its protocol adds glycine, B12 and B6. Hume Care also runs a separate page for an oral GLP-1 protocol, priced as an introductory offer from $7 a day with a "180 days Money Back Promise"; that page does not name the drug. There is no brand-name pen. Hume Care says it has "No affiliation with Novo Nordisk, Inc., the only US source of FDA-approved semaglutide." To understand the drug itself, read our page on compounded semaglutide.

Hume Care's offer page says it serves every US state except Alabama, Louisiana and Mississippi. The site's disclosures list only Louisiana and Mississippi as unavailable.

Hume Care costs $199 a month, all in, billed monthly. The pricing page says it "starts at $199 for the first 4-week supply, then $199/mo."

That price includes your medication, clinical visits, coaching and the full program. Shipping is free. Three months come to $597. The terms say the membership fee includes the clinical network's consultation fee and the cost of prescribed medication, which Hume collects as billing agent and itemizes at checkout. The home page plan box lists a medical consultation at $60.00, marked free. The terms also allow extra charges for some medications, doses, formulations or fulfillment options, and say Hume will disclose any such charge and get your express consent before charging it. Hume Care's terms call it a self-pay program, and the offer page lists both drugs as FSA/HSA-eligible.

The $199 monthly price sits on a dedicated offer page. The home page shows a different box: a 3-month plan at $199 a month against a struck-through $299, with a $100 welcome credit applied. It does not say whether that plan is billed monthly or up front. The terms say plans can be monthly, quarterly, semi-annual or annual, at the price shown at checkout. Check the total at checkout before you pay.

On month-to-month prices, Hume Care ranks 16 of the 20 compounded programs in its group, where the median is $168 a month. For scale, a pharmacy pays $871.12 for a Wegovy 1.7 mg pen package, effective September 23, 2026. That is an acquisition cost for the brand-name drug, not what a patient pays.

What to watch

The terms exclude a clinical consultation fee, charged at enrollment and at each refill, from refunds but give no amount. The home page lists a $60 consultation marked free (read 16 Oct 2026).

Is Hume Care legit?

Yes. Hume Care is a real program with public terms, a stated price and a clear prescriber model: licensed physicians in an independent clinical network. It has no FDA warning letter. The gap is the pharmacy. Hume Care names none, so you cannot check where your drug is made.

The drugs are stated plainly as compounded semaglutide and compounded tirzepatide. The terms put all medical evaluations and prescribing with "an independent third-party clinical network of independently licensed physicians". The oral protocol page introduces a pharmacist independent prescriber, Sarah Jenkins, and names Dr. Aaron Carter as chief medical officer; the offer page names Dr. Noah Davis as chief medical officer. Under "WE ARE REGULATED BY", the home page shows logos for LegitScript, the Care Quality Commission and the MHRA. No page we read gives a LegitScript certificate number, and we could not confirm a certification.

What pharmacy does Hume Care use?

Hume Care does not name its pharmacy. Its pricing page says its compounded semaglutide "is produced in an FDA-registered facility but has not been reviewed by the FDA for safety, efficacy, or quality." That tells you the drug is compounded. It does not tell you who makes it.

Without a name, there is no facility to look up in the FDA register and no inspection record to read. It also leaves the pharmacy type unstated. If the pharmacy matters to you, ask Hume Care for the name and the state license before your first fill. This gap is the main reason traceability scores 5.8 out of 10.

Sources12457

Does Hume Care have a discount code?

The pages we read show no public promo code. The home page plan box applies a $100 welcome credit, showing $199 a month against $299. On the offer page, the first 4-week supply costs $199, the same as every month after. The oral protocol page advertises an introductory offer from $7 a day, with no standing price shown. No page we read shows a lower monthly rate for a longer plan.

The home page advertises a money-back promise with a 6-month weight-loss condition, but the terms it links to set out no results guarantee. Be careful with code sites that list a Hume Care coupon; we found none on the brand's own pages.

How does Hume Care work?

The care runs through an independent clinical network, not through Hume Care itself. A licensed physician builds your protocol and adjusts it as you go. Hume Care states that it does not guarantee you will be prescribed medication.

Around the drug, you get one-on-one coaching, a psychology-based curriculum, food logging and weight tracking in the app. The program is built around a microdose approach: a lower-dose protocol rather than the standard dose ladder.

The home page promises "Unlimited access to clinicians 24/7" and says you can speak to the team in the Hume app. Hume Care does not state how fast you get your first review, how often follow-ups happen or whether labs are needed. Ask about all three before you pay.

Is Hume Care safe? FDA status and warning letters

Hume Care has no FDA warning letter and no open flag on its record. There is nothing against a pharmacy either, because none is named.

The bigger question with any compounded program is the drug itself. Compounded GLP-1s are prepared by a pharmacy to a prescription. They are not FDA-approved: the FDA doesn't review their safety, effectiveness or quality before they're sold, and they are not the same as Wegovy or Zepbound. Formulas can differ from one pharmacy to the next, and some add ingredients such as vitamin B12. Compounding pharmacies are licensed and inspected by state boards of pharmacy; outsourcing facilities (503B) also register with the FDA and are inspected by it. The FDA can issue warning letters when either breaks rules on safety or sterility. Hume Care says so on its own pricing page. Its safety page also says compounded semaglutide "should not be used with other semaglutide-containing products or any other GLP-1/GIP receptor agonist medicines."

For side effects, doses and who should not take this drug, read our page on semaglutide side effects, which quotes the FDA label.

How to cancel Hume Care

Cancellation
Cancel anytime
Money-back guarantee
Hume Care offers no results guarantee. The terms refund the membership fee only if a physician finds you ineligible for any treatment after your first evaluation, or if Hume ends a prepaid plan without cause. "All other fees are non-refundable."

You can cancel at any time in the web app, under Account and then Subscription, or by emailing support@humecare.com. You must cancel before your renewal date, or you are charged for the next renewal period. For annual plans, Hume emails a reminder 30 to 60 days before renewal; for other prepaid plans, at least 7 days before. There are no refunds for partly used periods: if you cancel a prepaid plan early, you keep access to the end of the term but get no pro-rated refund.

Refunds are narrow. If a physician finds you ineligible for any treatment after your first evaluation, Hume refunds that period's membership fee within 10 business days; if a device came with your plan, you can keep it or return it at Hume's expense, and the refund is not reduced. The only other refund is for a prepaid plan Hume ends without cause: it refunds the unused part. Every other fee is non-refundable.

The terms set out no results guarantee. Before you prepay, check the plan length and the total at checkout. If you have side effects, talk to your provider.

What customers say about Hume Care

Hume Care's home page shows eight customer testimonials: four with a weight-loss figure and four short member quotes. They talk about feeling supported, about confidence, about side effects being easier than feared, and about a second try at a GLP-1 going better than the first. Two credit a named doctor's protocol. One mentions the price: "I almost didn't join because of the cost." We don't repeat the weight figures, because one person's result doesn't show how well a program works.

None of them talks about the shipping or how fast the first review came. These are the brand's own published reviews, and this site collects no independent reviews. Read the price and the terms above for what you will pay and sign.

Our score combines seven checks. Each one counts for a fixed share of the total, listed below. Commission is not an input.

  • Price transparency: 8/10 (counts for 20% of the total score). The price is stated, the consultation fee is not.
  • Cost and value: 3/10 (counts for 15% of the total score). Rank 16 of 20 on month-to-month prices.
  • Medication and pharmacy traceability: 5.8/10 (counts for 15% of the total score). No pharmacy named.
  • Clinical access and oversight: 5.8/10 (counts for 15% of the total score). A physician-led protocol, no wait time or lab policy; our record holds no contact model, though the home page now offers clinicians 24/7.
  • Safety and enforcement: 8.75/10 (counts for 20% of the total score). No letter and no flag; our record holds no LegitScript certification, and the logo the home page now shows could not be confirmed.
  • Terms, commitment and refunds: 10/10 (counts for 10% of the total score). Cancel anytime.
  • Availability and fulfillment: 9.82/10 (counts for 5% of the total score). 47 states and free shipping; the site's own pages disagree on whether Alabama is served.

Since our last check, clinical care rose from 4.4 to 5.8 and availability from 8.57 to 9.82. Other programs in its group changed their prices, so its rank fell to 15 and cost and value fell from 4 to 3. We rescored Hume Care on October 10. The total rose from 6.9 to 7.0, which moves it from Fair to Good. We rescored it again on October 16, after its group grew to 20 programs: its rank moved from 15 to 16, and no score changed.
