Maximus Tribe Review: Is It Legit?

Maximus Tribe review: is it legit? Its open FDA letter, Trustpilot and BBB ratings, the pharmacies it names, and GLP-1 prices from $99.99/mo.

Last updated Oct 26, 2026
Quick answer

Maximus Tribe is an online GLP-1 program that prescribes both brand-name and compounded medication: compounded tirzepatide, Foundayo, Wegovy, Ozempic, Zepbound and Mounjaro. Plans start at $100 a month on a 12-month plan, $1,200 up front, with no month-to-month plan. We rate it 7.6/10 (Good). It names the pharmacies that fill its prescriptions: EVR, FCC, VIOS and The Pharmacy Hub. It ships to 47 states. Compounded drugs are not FDA-approved. Maximus Tribe has an FDA warning letter on file, so we do not recommend it.

Maximus Tribe is Maximus Health, Inc. dba Maximus, the men's health platform at maximustribe.com. It is not Maximus, Inc., the government services company in McLean, Virginia. Maximus added GLP-1 weight loss to its testosterone and peptide care. It suits men who want weight loss and hormone care from one doctor, with compounded and brand-name drugs on one menu.

We rate it 7.6 out of 10, tier Good. The pharmacies are named and the prices are public, but the low compounded rates need a long prepaid plan.

The catch is the FDA record. The FDA sent Maximus a warning letter on June 8, 2026, and it is still open.

What is Maximus Tribe?

Maximus Tribe (Maximus for short) is an online clinic for men. It started with testosterone and hormone protocols, and weight loss now sits beside them on the same platform. Its safety page says "Maximus offers oral, topical, and injectable forms of testosterone, and also offers enclomiphene", and that "Enclomiphene is not FDA-approved as a standalone drug." This review covers only its GLP-1 care.

Here is how it goes. You fill in a health history online, and a board-certified physician reviews it. If a GLP-1 fits, a licensed prescriber sets your dose and plan. The medication ships to your door in discreet, unmarked packaging, and refills continue on the same plan.

The menu is wide. For weight loss, the compounded side has one product, tirzepatide injections. The old compounded semaglutide page now redirects to tirzepatide. A separate microdosing protocol uses low doses of compounded semaglutide or tirzepatide, and Maximus says "This is not a weight-loss protocol." Compounded GLP-1s are prepared by a pharmacy to a prescription, and they are not FDA-approved; the safety section explains what that means. On the brand-name side there are Ozempic, Mounjaro, Wegovy, Foundayo and Zepbound. Wegovy comes as a weekly pen or a daily tablet. To understand the drugs themselves, read our pages on compounded semaglutide and compounded tirzepatide.

Maximus serves 47 states, all except Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana.

Is Maximus Tribe legit?

Maximus has an open FDA warning letter from June 8, 2026. That letter is about how Maximus markets compounded drugs, not about where the drugs come from. Beside it, Maximus has board-certified US physicians, four named pharmacies and a LegitScript certification.

Maximus names four pharmacies. EVR, FCC and VIOS prepare its compounded tirzepatide, by state. They are 503A pharmacies, which means compounding pharmacies that fill a prescription for one named patient under state board oversight. Brand-name drugs are dispensed through The Pharmacy Hub. None of the four appears in the FDA register we read, which is normal for that pharmacy type. So there is no inspection record to show you, and nothing against them either.

Each product page names the drug, its form and whether it is brand-name or compounded. The home page does not say plainly that some products are compounded.

Is Maximus Tribe a reputable company?

On October 24, 2026, the FDA's June 8, 2026 warning letter to Maximus Health, Inc. was still open, with no response or close-out published. On Trustpilot, Maximus has a TrustScore of 4.4 from about 1,100 reviews; 82% give five stars and 10% give one star. The Better Business Bureau lists it as Maximus Tribe in Santa Monica, California, rated B-, not BBB-accredited, with 20 complaints in the last three years. We don't verify these reviews; what they describe is in the customers section.

On October 24, 2026, compounded tirzepatide at Maximus cost $99.99 to $199.99 a month, set by plan length. The drug, the doctor and shipping are included. There is no membership fee and shipping is free. Maximus does not take insurance; its weight-loss page says "No insurance required." Labs, when your doctor asks for them, are billed apart.

There is no month-to-month compounded plan. The shortest plan is 2 months, billed up front.

The brand-name drugs cost more and rise with the dose. They are billed one month at a time. Each product page headline is a first-month price, and the ongoing rate is $100 higher. The Wegovy pen is $349.99 the first month, then $449.99 at 0.25 and 0.5 mg and $599.99 from 1.0 to 2.4 mg. Ozempic is $349.99, then $449.99, with 1 mg at $599.99 and 2 mg at $799.99.

For scale, a pharmacy pays $871.12 for a Wegovy 1.7 mg pen package, effective September 23, 2026. That is an acquisition cost, not what a patient pays.

Maximus Tribe tirzepatide price

Compounded tirzepatide is one flat rate per plan length, at every dose. Maximus says: "Tirzepatide is offered on four plan lengths, each at one flat monthly rate: 2-month plan $199.99/mo, 4-month plan $149.99/mo, 6-month plan $119.99/mo, and 12-month plan $99.99/mo." Every plan ships a 2-month supply at a time, and there is no first-month discount.

Each plan is billed up front for the full term. Maximus offers to split the payment with Klarna.

| Plan | Per month | Billed up front | | --- | --- | --- | | 2-month | $199.99 | $399.98 | | 4-month | $149.99 | $599.96 | | 6-month | $119.99 | $719.94 | | 12-month | $99.99 | $1,199.88 |

Maximus's help center still shows an older table, with a 1-month plan at $359.99 after a $259.99 first month. The product page is newer, so trust it, and confirm the total at checkout.

Brand-name tirzepatide costs more. Zepbound is $449.99 the first month, then $549.99 at 2.5 mg, $649.99 at 5 mg and $749.99 from 7.5 mg. Mounjaro is $1,249.99 the first month, then $1,349.99 at every dose.

Maximus Tribe semaglutide price

Maximus no longer sells compounded semaglutide for weight loss. Its compounded semaglutide page now redirects to tirzepatide. Its microdosing protocol lists compounded semaglutide at "Starting dose 0.25mg/week" for $99.99 a month, and Maximus says "This is an off-label use, prescribed at your physician's discretion."

Brand-name semaglutide comes as pens and pills. The Wegovy pen starts at $349.99, then $449.99 or $599.99 by dose; Wegovy HD 7.2 mg is $649.99. Ozempic starts at $349.99, then runs from $449.99 to $799.99. The Wegovy tablet starts at $249.99, then $349.99 or $499.99 by dose. Each first-month figure is $100 below the ongoing one.

What to watch

The FDA sent Maximus a warning letter on June 8, 2026, about claims for its compounded GLP-1s, and it was still open on 24 Oct 2026. Compounded tirzepatide also needs a prepaid plan of 2 to 12 months.

Does Maximus Tribe have a discount code?

Maximus publishes no promo code: none appears on the pages we read on October 24, 2026. The discount Maximus does offer is built into the price. Each brand-name drug is $100 off the first month. The brand-name pages also carry a banner: "$100 OFF first month of medication for new clients purchasing 12-month plan".

The deeper discount is a longer plan. Compounded tirzepatide drops from $199.99 a month on a 2-month plan to $99.99 on a 12-month plan. If you cancel a prepaid plan mid-term, you still owe the payments for the rest of the term. The exception is a health-related reason confirmed by a healthcare provider. If you have side effects, talk to your provider. Be wary of code sites that list a Maximus promo code; the brand does not publish one.

Does Maximus Tribe offer GLP‑1 pills?

Yes. Maximus sells two GLP-1 pills, both brand-name. The Wegovy tablet is "FDA-approved semaglutide. Now in a daily pill." It starts at $249.99 for the first month, then costs $349.99 at 1.5 mg and 4 mg and $499.99 at 9 mg and 25 mg.

Foundayo is the second pill. It is $199.99 the first month, then $299.99 at 0.8 mg, $349.99 at 2.5 mg and $499.99 from 5.5 mg. Maximus says "A board-certified physician reviews your information and determines if orforglipron is right for you." The Wegovy tablet has a strict routine: Maximus says to "take with no more than 4 oz of water, wait 30 minutes before eating or drinking." There is no compounded pill.

How does Maximus Tribe work?

The care runs online, with no scheduled appointments. You message your care team when you need to, and they track your progress and adjust your protocol.

The doctors are US-based, licensed and board-certified, with a focus on hormones and performance medicine. Your plan is not a fixed protocol: "Your dose, your plan. A licensed prescriber sets it from your weight, history, and goals." That suits men who already use Maximus for testosterone, since one team sees the whole picture.

Your price can move during a plan. The terms say "Changes in treatment care during the commitment term may result in higher or lower monthly charges depending on the prescribed care plan." Maximus does not state how fast a doctor reviews your intake or when labs are needed.

Is Maximus Tribe safe? FDA status and warning letters

Maximus has an open FDA warning letter to Maximus Health, Inc. dba Maximus, dated June 8, 2026. The subject is false and misleading claims, and misbranding, by a telehealth seller. The FDA reviewed maximustribe.com in May 2026 and wrote that it saw "your website’s false or misleading claims concerning compounded semaglutide and tirzepatide products". It quoted three claims, "Clinically studied ingredients.", "Clinically studied to help patients…." and "Proven to lose weight effectively", and the site's statement that the drugs come from "FDA approved pharmacies." The letter names no safety, sterility or quality finding. While the letter is open, we do not link to Maximus, and it appears in no ranking.

None of those four phrases appears on the Maximus pages we read on October 24, 2026, and its compounded pages say "Compounded medications are not FDA-approved for safety, efficacy, or quality." The FDA has published no response from Maximus and no close-out. The tirzepatide page still says "There’s a reason why everyone is talking about Tirzepatide. It works."

None of the four pharmacies appears in the letters we hold, and no other flag is open. The score goes back up when the FDA closes the letter out.

The bigger question with any compounded program is the drug itself. Compounded GLP-1s are prepared by a pharmacy to a prescription. They are not FDA-approved: the FDA doesn't review their safety, effectiveness or quality before they're sold, and they are not the same as Wegovy or Zepbound. Formulas can differ from one pharmacy to the next, and some add ingredients such as vitamin B12. Compounding pharmacies are licensed and inspected by state boards of pharmacy; outsourcing facilities (503B) also register with the FDA and are inspected by it. The FDA can issue warning letters when either breaks rules on safety or sterility. Maximus says its compounded tirzepatide comes from 503A pharmacies.

Maximus also sells compounded drugs outside weight loss, and its own safety page sets out their status. Its growth hormone peptides are sermorelin and tesamorelin: "Tesamorelin is FDA-approved as Egrifta for HIV-associated lipodystrophy. However, Tesamorelin dispensed by Maximus for other indications is a compounded formulation." Its oxytocin cream is compounded too: "There is no FDA-approved topical oxytocin product for mood, stress, or sleep indications." The FDA letter does not cover these products.

The drug questions are the same as for any GLP-1. The product pages carry the label warning that "In studies, semaglutide caused thyroid C-cell tumors in rats." For side effects, doses and who should not take these drugs, read our pages on semaglutide side effects and tirzepatide side effects, which quote the FDA labels.

What the website claimed

The FDA says the company’s own marketing or labeling was misleading — for example a claim about safety, results or approval, or a label implying the company makes a drug a pharmacy compounds. This is about how the drug was presented, not about the medicine a patient received.

“Your website claims that the compounded drug products it offers are sourced from “FDA approved pharmacies.””

What does an FDA letter mean?

A warning letter asks a company to fix something. It is not a recall, it does not suspend a license, and it is the FDA’s position rather than a court’s finding.

How to cancel Maximus Tribe

Cancellation
Minimum 12 months
Money-back guarantee
"If you're not approved for treatment, you'll receive a full refund (minus the cost of the doctor consultation)." No refunds for medicines already shipped.

To cancel Maximus, use the Maximus app or email support@maximustribe.com before your next processing date. Brand-name drugs are billed one month at a time. Compounded tirzepatide is prepaid for 2 to 12 months, and the $99.99 rate needs a 12-month plan, which is $1,199.88 up front. The terms let you ask to cancel a prepaid plan mid-term, but you stay responsible for the payments for the rest of the term. If a healthcare provider finds you can't continue for a health-related reason, you can cancel the commitment without further charges; Maximus may ask for documentation, and medication already shipped is not refunded. Read the plan length before you pay. If you have side effects, talk to your provider.

A prepaid plan renews at the same flat rate at the end of the term unless you cancel before the renewal date. The terms say Maximus sends a renewal notice, with the renewal rate, at least 30 days before that date. They ask you to cancel a commitment plan through support at support@maximustribe.com.

The refund rule is short. If a doctor does not approve you for treatment, you get a full refund, minus the cost of the doctor consultation. Maximus does not refund medicine that has already shipped. Payments under a prepaid plan are otherwise non-refundable, and lab and consultation fees are never refunded.

What customers say about Maximus Tribe

Maximus's weight-loss page shows three short testimonials, each marked "Verified buyer", and says they were "Collected by Maximus from verified customers. Results vary." One praises "a team that cares, a doctor that spends the time with me, and support mechanisms that matter." The others describe results; we don't repeat those, because one person's result doesn't show how well a program works. The page also claims "Over 50,000 clients trust Maximus" but does not say how that is counted. The page Maximus links as reviews is a resource article about blood-work results, not a page of client stories.

The home page carries a chart of client results. We do not repeat it, because it is an outcome claim and not a review. This site collects no independent reviews.

Outside its own site, Maximus has a TrustScore of 4.4 on Trustpilot from about 1,100 reviews, read on October 24, 2026. Maximus claimed the profile in August 2021 and invites its customers to review it. The one- and two-star reviews posted since April 2026 mostly describe billing, such as charges for orders that did not ship or after canceling, plus slow or automated support and missed or partial shipments. Most of them are about testosterone, peptides or lab kits; one of the twenty mentions tirzepatide. The Better Business Bureau rates Maximus Tribe B-, and 20 complaints were filed with it in the last three years. Maximus is not BBB-accredited.

We rescored Maximus on October 10, after it dropped compounded semaglutide and moved compounded tirzepatide to prepaid plans. Cost and value rose from 2 to 5, and terms fell from 10 to 9. A new program joined its group above Maximus's price, which helped its cost and value. The total rose from 7.3 to 7.6. Our confidence fell from high to medium until our weekly price check reads the new plans. One sign-up page for testosterone refused our automated read, so our coverage of that page is thinner. We rescored Maximus again on October 16. Price transparency rose from 8.14 to 8.36, because more of our price re-reads matched the prices on record. One program left its group, now 10 programs, and Maximus ranks 6, with cost and value holding at 5. The total rose from 7.6 to 7.7, and our confidence rose from medium to high. We rescored Maximus again on October 24, after it cut its compounded tirzepatide prices: the 2-month plan fell from $249.99 to $199.99 a month and the 12-month plan from $149.99 to $99.99. We added the 2- and 4-month plans to our record, so terms fell from 9 to 8.48, because more of its plans are prepaid. Cost and value holds at 5, since the 2-month rate, $199.99, is the one we rank. Price transparency fell from 8.36 to 8.14 on our price re-reads. The total fell from 7.7 to 7.6, and our confidence fell from high to medium until our weekly price check reads the new prices.
